Bula Takeaways is more versatile than its name first suggests. The Selwyn Heights venue explicitly welcomes customers to eat at its Kokako Street premises, with collection and delivery available for meals elsewhere. Its long menu brings several takeaway traditions together under one roof, giving local diners access to fish and chips, curries, wok dishes, burgers and roast meals without treating any one of them as a token add-on.

Fish shop favourites remain an important part of the offering. Individual fish, fritters, hot dogs and sausages can be combined freely with chips, while larger fish feasts and mixed seafood packs simplify an order for several people. Roti wraps and burgers provide complete meals, and combinations with chips and drinks make the venue practical when a group wants familiar food without building every order one item at a time.

The curry section carries a noticeable island and Indian influence. Vegetable and chicken curries come with rice, roti and condiments, lamb curry is built around a bone-in shank, and butter chicken is paired with rice and naan. The menu also turns those flavours into less expected formats, such as chips topped with butter-chicken sauce, alongside pies and bread items that broaden the quick-snack selection.

Fried rice, stir-fries, chow mein and chop suey can be ordered with vegetables, chicken, lamb, beef, pork or prawns, giving the wok menu unusual depth for a neighbourhood venue. Sweet-and-sour dishes, roast meals and Charleez fried chicken add further alternatives. That range lets Bula function as a casual dine-in stop, a family takeaway and a place where one order can span several cooking styles.
