Mealmates Cafe is a neighbourhood daytime cafe at Davies Corner in Fairfield, occupying Shop 4 within the 303 Clarkin Road complex. It opens seven days and combines seated cafe use with online pickup, so the room works for a planned breakfast as readily as a coffee collected on the way through Hamilton. Regular community coffee gatherings reinforce its role as a local meeting place. The approach is familiar and practical rather than formal, with cooked meals and a broad drinks list available across the day.

Breakfast and brunch make up the largest part of the menu. The big breakfast brings bacon, eggs, sausage, beans, tomato and grain toast together, while eggs Benedict, an omelette and eggs with toast offer smaller variations on the same morning staples. A smoked salmon omelette adds rocket and feta, and bacon with corn fritters comes with avocado, sour cream and sweet chilli. For sweeter starts, diners can move to pancakes with fruit and berry sauce, French toast with bacon and banana, or toasted muesli with yoghurt and compote.

Lunch shifts towards salads, sandwiches and more substantial cafe plates. Soup of the day and a vegetarian salad sit beside grilled chicken salad and beef nachos, while the open sandwich section covers bacon, chicken and steak. Fish with fries provides a straightforward hot meal, and the burger range builds fish, chicken or Scotch fillet into larger combinations served with fries and salad.
