Edgewater Restaurant occupies the lakefront at Millennium Hotel & Resort Manuels Taupō, with uninterrupted water views shaping the experience from breakfast through dinner. The setting reaches back to the site's original 1930s fishing lodge, while the current restaurant pairs that history with a contemporary dining room. It is open to the public as well as hotel guests, with reservations available for lunch and evening meals beside Lake Taupō.
Breakfast is organised as either a continental or full buffet. Fruit, yoghurt, cereals, seeds, breads, preserves, juices, tea and filtered coffee make up the lighter spread. The full version adds scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans and hash browns, giving early diners a substantial hot option without sacrificing the simpler components. The format suits the hotel's morning rhythm while still making the lakefront setting the memorable part of the meal.
Lunch keeps the selection focused. Warm rewena or focaccia arrives with savoury dips, and Caesar salad can be expanded with smoked chicken or prawns. Dinner broadens the kitchen's range with seafood chowder, slow-braised New Zealand lamb shank, Hereford tenderloin and chicken breast with cauliflower skordalia. Pumpkin risotto gives the menu a meat-free centrepiece, while seafood fettuccine brings prawns, calamari and mussels together with tomato, garlic, herbs and white wine. Mixed-berry tiramisu, warm chocolate brownie, chocolate mousse cake and a Kapiti cheese platter offer distinct ways to end the evening.
