Taranaki Pizza is a casual central New Plymouth pizzeria that stays open well beyond conventional dinner hours, particularly toward the weekend. Diners can eat at the Devon Street East premises, collect an order or use delivery, and the menu is broad enough for both a single pizza and a group meal. Thick-crust pizzas remain the foundation, but burgers, wings, fish and chips and loaded sides widen the choice. The late schedule and combination deals make the venue especially practical when several people want familiar food without agreeing on one topping or format.
Chicken pizzas move through several different spice profiles. Tandoori chicken combines tomato, coriander and garlic aioli, butter chicken uses a creamy spiced sauce, and peri peri adds sharper heat with mushrooms and coriander. Satay chicken brings nuts into the mix, while cranberry chicken pairs the meat with brie. Chicken and bacon and barbecue combinations cover more familiar territory. Seafood pizzas include garlic-chilli prawns, marinara and a surf-and-turf version with beef and prawns, giving the menu more range than a standard list of ham, pepperoni and cheese.
Vegetarian diners have both conventional and Indian-influenced choices. Margherita keeps the topping simple with tomato and pesto, while butter paneer and tandoori paneer layer cheese with onion, tomato, herbs and spiced sauces. Vegetable supreme combines mushrooms, capsicum and pineapple. A separate vegan section uses dairy-free cheese for a Mediterranean pizza with olives and capsicum, a mushroom melt on an aioli base, and a hotter corn-and-jalapeño version. That division makes plant-based choices easy to identify rather than requiring diners to reconstruct a meat pizza through substitutions.
Beyond pizza, the Golden Grill chicken burger adds caramelised onion, cheese, house sauce and green chutney, while beef and vegetable patties have their own burger builds. Southern-style chicken wings, loaded wedges, fish and chips, garlic bread and onion rings can fill out a larger order. Meal deals combine multiple pizzas with sides and drinks, and a pizza-and-burger combination suits groups split between the two. The result is a flexible neighbourhood menu that can cover a quick slice-style craving, a late burger or a fuller shared spread.
