The Merchant Pub Co. is an independently owned Albany pub designed to cover several kinds of occasion without losing its easygoing local character. The courtyard works for a long lunch, screens carry live sport, and the programme of live music gives evenings their own energy. It opens from late morning every day, making the Westfield Albany venue as suitable for a meal as it is for after-work drinks or a larger organised function.

Sharing plates draw from well beyond standard pub snacks. Lamb gözleme and brisket nachos offer substantial beginnings, while buttermilk fried chicken and wings suit a table ordering alongside drinks. Sichuan squid, shiitake gyoza and prawn wontons introduce different flavours and textures, giving groups enough range to construct a meal from smaller dishes rather than moving directly to a main. The selection feels broad, but each item has a clear role at the table.

Burgers, pizza and main plates form the heart of the larger menu. The burgers cover Wagyu beef, fried chicken and a vegetarian bhaji, while pizzas run from margherita and truffle fungi to Philly cheese steak and the Korean-influenced Seoul. Pub standards such as fish and chips sit beside Massaman lamb shank, Texas-style ribs and green-lipped mussels in lobster bisque. Charred broccoli provides a composed plant-led main instead of leaving non-meat diners with only side dishes.

Dessert keeps the pub's playful side visible through pistachio cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding and ice-cream nachos, with sorbet available for a lighter close. A children's section makes family meals easier to navigate, and the drinks list covers cocktails, wine, tap and bottled beer and alcohol-free choices. Together with the courtyard, sport and function spaces, that range lets the venue move comfortably between a quick meal, a family lunch and a longer social evening.
