Pavilion Café is the light-filled daytime face of Hornby Club's contemporary Carmen Road complex. The cafe occupies a refined glasshouse, creating a bright setting for coffee, breakfast, brunch or lunch, and it welcomes the public throughout the week. Hours extend later from Thursday into the weekend, giving the room more flexibility than a conventional morning-only cafe. Cakes and cabinet food keep quick visits simple, while the plated menu and relaxed surroundings make it equally suitable for a longer catch-up or an easy family meal.
Breakfast covers the savoury standards with enough variation to keep them interesting. Eggs on toasted ciabatta can be kept straightforward, while smashed avocado adds poached eggs for a fuller plate. Pavilion's Eggs Benedict offers a choice of ham, smoked salmon, bacon or portobello mushroom and spinach beneath hollandaise. A potato, sage and onion hash provides a vegetable-led alternative, and the Breakfast of Legends gathers eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, toast and hash into the most substantial start. Dietary labels make adaptable dishes easier to identify.
The sweeter side moves through freshly made pancakes with bacon, banana, maple syrup and passionfruit mascarpone, Belgian-style waffles with berries and a granola bowl with yoghurt, compote and honey. Children aged 12 and under have their own breakfast selection, including a small Benedict, pancake and waffle, so family groups do not have to improvise from adult portions. Later in the day, cakes and changing cabinet treats become more prominent. That combination allows Pavilion to serve a quick snack, a celebratory sweet or a complete brunch from the same counter.
Pavilion's glasshouse also changes character beyond ordinary cafe service. Smaller afternoon teas, brunches and lunch events can be arranged in the room, and the space can be transformed for an evening function. Its polished detail gives those occasions a distinct setting while retaining the approachable atmosphere of the daytime cafe. For local groups, that creates a useful progression from a casual table booking to a planned celebration without moving to an unrelated venue. The flexibility is especially appealing when food, natural light and an easy social mood matter more than formal ceremony.
