Stumble Inn brings the roles of neighbourhood cafe, restaurant and bar together in Merrilands. Its layout gives diners more choice than a single pub room: there is a sunny garden bar, covered decks, a dining room with cushioned seats, intimate booths and high social tables near the bar. Regular quizzes, bingo, pool, poker and sporting events keep the mood sociable, while live music shifts into the garden on many warm weather Sundays.

Brunch covers both familiar favourites and more indulgent combinations. Bacon and eggs, a ham and cheese omelette and creamy seasonal mushrooms on ciabatta sit beside waffles with banana and bacon or southern fried chicken. Eggs Benedict is built on a herb potato rosti with bacon or smoked salmon, and the full Kiwi breakfast adds kransky, mushrooms, tomato and toast for diners after a substantial start.

Seafood is a strong thread through the all day menu. The chowder arrives with toasted ciabatta, locally caught market fish can be beer battered, crumbed or pan fried, and tempura prawns come with salad or coleslaw and chips. Burgers and open sandwiches broaden the casual options with southern fried chicken, steak, house made beef and battered fish, while salads range from roast vegetables to Thai beef and salt and pepper calamari.

The list of main meals leans into generous pub classics without narrowing itself to one style. Fettuccine, schnitzel, lamb's fry, slow cooked pork belly, Thai green curry and chicken parmigiana are joined by rump steak and prime Taranaki scotch fillet. Sticky date pudding, mud cake, banoffee pie and sundaes round off the menu, and a separate children's selection makes the venue workable for family meals as well as drinks and dinner with friends.
