St Pierre's Sushi & Bento Bowl Napier is the chain's Carlyle Street branch, open daily for sushi, rice meals and quick sides. Customers can use outdoor seating or reserve ahead, as well as choosing takeaway or delivery. The format reflects a business that began as a delicatessen and seafood shop before adding sushi in the early 1990s, then expanding into bento and cooked rice dishes. At this branch, those strands come together in a menu suited to lunch, dinner or a portable snack.
Sushi is organised around recognisable fillings while leaving room to compare styles. Chicken rolls cover teriyaki, katsu and spicier combinations, while salmon appears in rolls and nigiri. Prawn, tuna and sweet-chilli seafood choices broaden the range, and combination packs remove the need to settle on only one filling. The variety makes the counter useful for mixed groups: one person can keep to a dependable favourite while another explores a platter with several pieces and preparations.
The menu is not limited to seafood or chilled rolls. Vegetarian combinations use avocado, cream cheese, ginger, inari, seaweed and capsicum in different arrangements. Cooked meals served on rice include katsu, teriyaki and the hotter Chicken on Fire, giving diners a warm and more substantial alternative. These two sections also make the venue easier to navigate for households with different preferences, especially when sushi, vegetarian choices and hot rice bowls all need to fit into the same order.
Smaller additions turn the core choices into a fuller meal. Rice balls, crab nuggets, edamame, seaweed and shrimp sides can be added individually, while miso soup and green tea stay close to the Japanese fast casual theme. Mochi supplies a sweet finish. There are also children's rolls and larger sharing platters, useful when the order is for a family or group rather than a single diner choosing from the cabinet.
