Cornerstone Bar & Eatery is a central Tauranga pub where The Strand's social life, food and live sport meet in one busy room. It works for a quick lunch, after-work drinks or a catch-up that continues into the evening, and the team also hosts corporate and family functions. Weekend opening begins in the morning, adding breakfast service to the regular lunch and dinner rhythm.
The food follows an easygoing pub format rather than a narrowly defined cuisine. A current menu divides into snacks, burgers and mains, making it straightforward to order a small plate with a drink or settle in for a complete meal. Chicken wings and curly fries cover the shareable end of the selection, while a Thai beef salad brings a fresher, more aromatic option among the larger plates.
That broad format suits groups whose appetites do not all point in the same direction. Fries and bar snacks can circulate around the table while burgers and mains provide individual choices, and weekend breakfast gives the venue a different purpose earlier in the day. Delivery and pickup extend part of the menu beyond the pub, but its strength remains the way food fits naturally into a social visit.
Sport is a major part of the atmosphere, with multiple Sky Sport channels shown across a large array of screens. Cornerstone also introduced Darts Union, an interactive darts system designed for beginners as well as experienced players, and sessions can be booked ahead. The combination of games, televised fixtures, drinks and function space makes the venue especially well suited to lively group occasions.
