The Barrel Room is a Tauranga CBD bar and restaurant built around an enthusiasm for beer, wine, whisky and food developed over more than two decades. Its Wharf Street location works equally well for a table over lunch and an evening led by drinks. An express lunch period on weekdays keeps midday visits focused, while the full food menu later in the day and throughout the weekend supports a longer, more social meal.

Hand stretched sourdough pizza is a clear centrepiece. A margherita keeps things simple with tomato, cheese and basil, while pepperoni supplies a familiar richer choice. Other combinations layer salami with blue cheese, chicken with chorizo, or chicken with bacon and brie. A vegetarian supreme broadens the range, allowing a table to order several contrasting pizzas to divide and share.

Burgers, small plates and sides give the kitchen a second identity beyond pizza. The Wagyu smash burger leans into seared beef and classic burger appeal, while the Nashville hot chicken option brings heat and crunch. Fries and smaller dishes can fill out a shared order or accompany drinks.
