Subway The Square Menu

Subway The Square occupies the Fitzherbert Avenue and Church Street corner at the southern edge of Palmerston North's central square. Daily service begins in the morning, so the branch covers breakfast as well as the familiar lunchtime and evening trade. Its main advantage is speed combined with control: diners can order at the counter, arrange pickup or delivery, and still decide exactly how bread, protein, vegetables, condiments and sauce come together in the finished meal.

The sub list mixes enduring combinations with choices that lean into richer sauces and cheeses. Chicken Classic and Chicken Bacon Ranch cover two poultry-led directions, while Italian Meatball and Italian B.M.T. bring tomato sauce or cured meats into the picture. Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki offers a sweeter profile, Pork Riblet adds a barbecue note, and Philly-Style Three-Cheese Steak is the most overtly indulgent of the current featured options. Each can be sized to suit the appetite before toppings are added.

Not every order needs to be a long roll. Wraps and salads carry many of the same fillings into different formats, while the breakfast section makes the early opening useful for commuters. Nachos and toasties provide warm alternatives, and cookies, snacks, chips and drinks fill out a smaller meal or add a side. That range helps mixed groups order from one counter even when some diners want a substantial sandwich and others prefer something lighter or more snack-like.

Online group ordering and the larger Mega Combo make this branch practical when the order is for several people, while six-inch combos remain straightforward for one. The central location also suits a quick stop between errands around The Square. Subway The Square is at its best when diners use the format actively: select a named filling for direction, customise the fresh components, then choose a wrap, salad, side or bundle that fits the moment rather than treating every visit as the same sandwich order.
