The Orange Cafe occupies a prominent corner of Victoria Avenue in Whanganui's 1902 former Post and Telegraph Office building. The heritage facade and footpath tables give a daytime visit a strong sense of place, while the menu is firmly contemporary and informal. Brunch ranges from simple eggs on ciabatta to plates made for a slower start. Eggs Benedict comes with spinach, pesto and house hollandaise, while the hash stack layers potatoes with tomato, mushrooms, bacon and greens.
