HUNCHMUNCH is a late-running Glendene burger restaurant built for several kinds of casual meal. Customers can book a table, collect an order or use delivery, making the Great North Road shop as useful for an impromptu dine-in feed as it is for dinner at home. Its menu is broad but coherent, leaning into smashed patties, fried chicken, slow-cooked meat, cheese and house sauces rather than trying to imitate a conventional sit-down bistro.
Smashed-beef burgers form one of the strongest threads. The Double Trouble layers two patties with cheddar, onion, pickles and HM sauce in a toasted brioche bun, while the Three Idiots pushes the same idea to three patties. Other combinations bring bacon and barbecue sauce, fried egg, or pulled meat into the stack. Chicken burgers take a different route, from Nashville-style heat and jalapeño to a Hawaiian mix of pineapple, bacon and sweet soy or a cranberry-and-brie version.
Tacos and fried snacks give the menu another centre of gravity. Birria-style tacos tuck pulled meat and mozzarella into tortillas with onion and coriander, then add consommé, salsa and guacamole. Chicken, fish, shrimp, squid and falafel versions use the same hand-held format in different directions. Around them are pork-belly bites, hot-honey chicken tenders, lemon-pepper squid and crisp cheese snacks, all suited to sharing before the burgers arrive or building into a meal of their own.
Loaded fries and macaroni carry the restaurant's indulgent style beyond sandwiches. Fries can arrive under cheese sauce, pulled meat and HM sauce, while macaroni is paired with choices such as sticky pork belly, fried chicken or popcorn shrimp. There are also vegetarian and fish burgers, family bundles, children's meals, desserts and soft drinks. It is an unabashed comfort-food menu, but the range lets a mixed group choose between a compact snack, a single burger or a deliberately over-the-top shared order.
