Eva Pub is the name now used by the Dixon Street venue long known as Eva Beva, retaining the same corner premises in Te Aro while presenting a sharper party-pub character. The room combines a substantive food menu with local beer and cocktails, a large sports screen and a busy entertainment programme. Quiz, karaoke, open-mic sessions and DJs give different nights their own pace, so a meal here can be the main event or the beginning of a much later evening.
Burgers sit at the centre of the food offer and cover three distinct appetites. Bob's Burger stacks beef, bacon and double cheese with tomato, jalapeño, gherkin, pickled onion and the house sauce. Fly and Fire takes a lighter but spicy direction through grilled chicken, salsa, jalapeño, slaw and mango mayonnaise. Forest Affair uses a falafel patty with gherkins, lettuce, green tomato sauce and vegan mayonnaise, giving the plant-based choice a clear flavour identity of its own.
Beyond the buns, the menu keeps to generous pub food with a Latin accent in several dishes. Deep-fried pork belly comes with salad, red salsa, guacamole and pickled onion, while the naked burrito layers brown rice, beans, vegetables, roasted corn and sauces around beef or a vegetarian filling. Margherita and pepperoni pizzas provide familiar sharing options. Chicken wings, nachos, jalapeño poppers, falafel bites and calamari make it easy to build a snack-led order for a table watching sport or settling in before the music starts.
Fries range from a simple peri-peri seasoned bowl to versions loaded with bacon, cheese, jalapeño and salsa, or roasted corn, tomato and vegan mayonnaise. Churros with cinnamon sugar and chocolate-hazelnut sauce offer a crisp sweet finish, while flan brings custard and caramel. That full progression from burgers and mains through snacks, loaded sides and dessert is what makes Eva more than a late-night drinks room: the kitchen can support lunch, dinner or an extended evening without losing the pub's lively social focus.
