Bobby's Pizza is a compact Te Aro pizzeria in Willis Street Village, serving customers who want to eat on site as well as those collecting a takeaway or ordering delivery. The business began in 2016 as Wellington Pizza Express before taking its current name, and it retains the direct, accessible character of a neighbourhood pizza shop. Its menu is concise enough to navigate quickly but varied enough for a group, with familiar tomato-based pies sitting beside creamy, spicy and Indian-inspired combinations.
The kitchen puts much of its identity into the base. Dough is made fresh in store each day and cooked in an Italian stone-base oven, aiming for a crisp crust underneath the toppings. The ingredient list centres on fresh produce, mozzarella and selected meats rather than an oversized catalogue of novelty additions. A plain cheese pizza or Margherita shows that straightforward approach clearly, while pepperoni, ham and pineapple, beef and onion, and a loaded Italiano provide recognisable choices for diners who prefer the classics.
Bobby's becomes more distinctive in the chicken, seafood and vegetarian sections. Creamy chicken layers roast chicken, spinach and tomato over a crème fraîche base, while satay, korma and butter-chicken pizzas bring sauces and spice profiles rarely found together on a conventional pizzeria menu. Prawn options follow both creamy and tomato-led routes. Vegetarians can choose combinations involving feta, spinach, olives, mushrooms, peppers or paneer, so meat-free ordering is more substantial than simply removing a topping from a standard pizza. These recipes keep the pizza format familiar while borrowing sauces associated with other takeaway traditions.
Crust and cheese alternatives let diners adjust the format, with thin crust, gluten-free bases, vegan cheese and a liquid-cheese crust among the listed options. Garlic bread, chips, wedges and chicken sides make it possible to build a shared order, while brownies, cheesecake and chocolate mousse offer a simple finish. The shop also accepts larger catering orders outside ordinary service by arrangement. Whether the pizza is eaten at the Willis Street shop or taken away, the strongest reason to choose Bobby's is its combination of fresh-made dough and an unusually broad set of flavour directions.
