Fino Restaurant & Wine Bar occupies Sheds 8 and 9 at Queenstown Marina, where the outlook stretches across Lake Wakatipu towards The Remarkables. Its waterfront position gives the room a sense of occasion without limiting it to formal dinners: the venue moves from coffee and a light daytime stop to lunch, sunset wine and an evening meal. Indoor and outdoor spaces keep the marina setting central, whether the plan is a quick glass, a long shared lunch or a celebration by the water.
The kitchen works with a seasonal, European-inspired sharing format rather than a fixed catalogue of dishes. Executive chef Stasia Andani draws on local farmers, growers and artisans, allowing the menu to shift with the produce and the time of year. Locally caught seafood, grilled meats and composed vegetarian plates provide the main contours, with lighter bites and more substantial courses designed to sit together on the table. That flexibility makes the food suitable for both a brief visit and a full dinner.
Wine is given equal weight to the kitchen. Eugene Kliushneu curates a list of more than forty selections, with boutique and family-owned Central Otago vineyards forming its centre of gravity while other New Zealand regions broaden the range. Bottles can be ordered by the glass or in full, and favourites can also be purchased to take away. Tasting flights and pairing guidance let diners explore the list without needing to arrive with a particular producer, grape or style already in mind.
Fino also serves as Quartz Reef's Queenstown tasting venue, bringing the Bendigo producer's Méthode Traditionnelle, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and selected estate wines to the marina. Those guided pours can lead into seasonal sharing plates, lunch or dinner, giving a cellar-door style tasting a distinctly urban waterfront setting. For groups, the restaurant can adapt its indoor and outdoor areas to private functions and special events, while the broad service day still leaves room for informal coffee, a pre-dinner drink or a longer meal.
