Sundays turns a relocated 1930s church at Frankton's Country Lane into a warm gathering place for food and drinks. Original timber floors and wall panelling sit alongside vintage lighting and eclectic furniture, giving the dining room the character of its former life without feeling formal. Outside, a broad terrace and lawn make room for long summer lunches, while a covered pavilion and fireplace keep the outdoor side of the venue useful when Queenstown turns cold.

The wood-fired oven is the centre of the kitchen's identity. Neapolitan-style pizzas arrive on puffy sourdough bases with the chew and char that come from a hot oven, and seasonal local produce helps shape the toppings. Local mushrooms are one recurring example, while familiar choices such as pepperoni give less adventurous diners an easy entry point. It is a style of pizza designed to share, fitting the restaurant's communal setting and relaxed pace.

There is plenty to order around the pizza rather than treating it as the whole meal. Pecorino churros and agria fries make natural opening snacks, while local salami and meatballs extend the sharing side of the menu. Pasta brings another strand of Italian inspiration, with dishes such as cacio e pepe offering a simple counterpoint to the fire and smoke of the oven. The result suits a table that wants to graze across several plates as much as one looking for a direct pizza dinner.

Drinks follow the same social rhythm, with cocktails and sangria alongside beer and a selection of local wine. That range makes Sundays flexible enough for a casual afternoon stop, a family meal or a longer evening built around plates for the table. In summer the lawn and patio add to the easygoing mood; in winter the covered area and open fire bring everyone closer. The combination of heritage architecture, wood-fired cooking and a locally minded drinks list gives the restaurant a clear sense of place.
