Ramen Ria sits in the Riverside Market Laneway, with its compact ground-floor restaurant supplemented by an upstairs bar. The kitchen approaches ramen as a craft rather than a quick assembly job: noodles are made fresh each day, while bone broths simmer for more than eight hours. Table bookings, takeaway and delivery make the same cooking accessible whether the plan is a seated meal or a bowl at home.

The ramen list moves well beyond a single house broth. Miso, shoyu and tonkotsu offer recognisable starting points, joined by black tonkotsu, chicken paitan, Taiwanese beef, roast duck and the sesame-rich heat of tantanmen. Pork, chicken and vegetable choices run through the range, including a spicy plant-based bowl, so the menu keeps its focus while leaving diners several distinct routes through it.

Smaller plates bring the energy of Japanese street food to the table. Spiced edamame, dumplings, takoyaki, karaage and tempura vegetables can open a meal or build a shared spread, while soft bao hold fillings such as crisp pork belly, roasted duck, chicken or vegetables. Several diners can begin communally, then choose their own broths and noodles.

Rice dishes and bento make Ramen Ria more than a specialist noodle stop. Donburi, Japanese curry, salads and compartmented bento provide alternatives for lunch or dinner, and the sweet finish can take the form of matcha gelato sundae, tiramisu or Biscoff peanut-butter cheesecake. Upstairs, Japanese beer, soju and cocktails give the meal a relaxed bar element without displacing the food.
